attitude is everything
starting your day with an open mind and positive outlook is imperative to have a fabulous day. Attitude is yours, it is a choice, and you own it, can control it and its your responsibility. When people have a "bad" attitude it is because they choose it. they hold on to anger or bitterness and and choose to carry it with them. when you blame others or something else for your problems that feeds your negative attitude. the easiest way to stay positive is to accept others for who they are and let their garbage stay with them. don't absorb the negative. live positive. live in the moment and see the good out of everything. when your mind is open the world is a brighter, better place. and remember to breath :)

smile
something as simple as a smile can alter somebody's day and improve your own happiness. my outlook is positive - it is going to be a gorgeous day! and during my day i will smile at passerby's and see if they smile back. NY is a tough place to live so anything i can do to ease my day i will. especially if it is as simple as a smile :)

inspiration
my inspiration yesterday was when a girl bought a guy his coffe & breakfast because he didn't have a small enough bill at the register. it was an awesome act of kindness because it helped all involved except herself. Her selfless act inspires me on the upcoming holiday season when there are so many people who will need help and inspiration to get through the holidays. although this particular transaction wasnt that neccesary because the man had the money, he just couldnt break his bill.
Today i will make a list of helpful actions i can take for the upcoming season to help those in need as well as to inspire others to help out. whether its a meal, coffee, a gesture or a simple smile it is important to remember to stay positive, be thankful and before you judge put yourself in the other person's shoes.

be the change you wish to see
today i became aware of the dozens of ads promoting volunteerism, changing the world and helping out. I am inspired to give my time. i am not sure what i can do but i have a feeling that even small things will make the world a better place. I will start with my attitude - a positive, kind and loving one. i will treat everyone with loving kindness. although this may become hard at times it is important to remember that i wish to be treated with love and kindness. "how would i want to be treated?" will be in my mind anytime i become resentful or mean spirited. The world does not need feear, anger or resentment - it needs love, happiness, and positive outlooks. It needs humans to be thoughtful of others, sweet, and helpful. i am inspired to be the change i wish to see.

good news
so i was flipping thru the channel the other day when i came upon a program called "good news". it was catholic based out of long island but it was just as it described - good news. all of the guests, stories and features were posistive in nature. there were no reports of death, hate, loss, violence. all good news. and not all of it had a religious conotation either. so,it got me thinking - what if i were to write about good news? whether it be a story, personal experience, quote or affirmation - i am going to try to conduct this experiment for the next 21-30 days & see what happens.
today i am happy to report that we had beautiful fall wether and there was a nice turn out on election day.
okay, so far so good. hopefully i will remember to write more tomorrow.
